A 40-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly supplying heroin in Delhi-NCR, the police said on Thursday.

The accused was apprehended near a government hospital in Rohini with 200 gm of high-quality heroin worth ₹1 crore in his possession, they said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Rajneesh Gupta said Vinod, a resident of Mangolpuri, was apprehended near Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital on Tuesday.

“We received a tip-off on Tuesday regarding his presence near Rohini west metro station. A team comprising sub-inspector Amarjeet, head constables Yashveer and Yogesh, and constable Ravinder arrested Vinod,” said Mr. Gupta.

During interrogation, Vinod told the police that he has been selling drugs for years and purchased them from Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly to supply in the Capital.

“A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been registered at north Rohini police station and efforts are being made to trace the person from whom Vinod used to buy heroin,” said Mr. Gupta.
