With a view to provide smooth Metro connectivity between Faridabad and Gurgaon, the Haryana government has requested the Union Ministry for Urban Development to construct a Metro link between the existing Qutub Minar (on Yellow Line) and Badarpur (on Violet Line) stations by 2018.

The link would cut down the travelling time for Gurgaon commuters bound for Faridabad, and vice-versa, as they are currently required to go all through to the Central Secretariat station for interchange between the routes.

To make towns like Faridabad slum-free, the Chief Minister asked the officers to send a delegation to Mumbai for study of Mumbai model. He also suggested constitution of a committee for increasing income sources of the municipal corporations .
