The Arts and Literature Foundation, in partnership with the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram, is set to host the ‘Gurgaon Utsav’ here next week.
The fifth edition of the festival will open on March 10 with ‘Khwaab Sa’, award-winning theatre director Atul Kumar’s interpretation of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’.
Potpourri of art, music
In the play, he will explore the amalgam of contemporary dance, classical Hindustani music and nautanki . “Khwaab Sa depicts three worlds in three different forms. The lovers do not talk at all. They explore their journeys through contemporary dance, movement and gesture,” said Mr. Kumar
Sufi spirit
On March 11, Dhruv Sangari and his troupe Rooh will be performing songs of Holi in the Sufi tradition. On March 12, visitors will soak in the performances of folk singer Malini Awasthi.
“I am looking forward to performing once again at the festival. Gurugram residents love me and I love them,” said Ms. Awasthi.
