Even as pollution levels in Gurugram continued to be high, the district administration on Sunday directed all schools, private and government, to remain closed on Monday.

Issuing directions, Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh said NCR was enveloped in smog, which was causing extreme inconvenience to the residents of Gurugram. The order said exposing children to conditions outdoors might have an adverse effect on their health and therefore, all schools, both government and private, were directed to remain closed on Monday as per the Graded Response Action Plan issued by the Environment Pollution Control Authority.
