All roads maintained by the Delhi government’s Public Works Department would be landscaped, with greenery along the sides and on central verges, starting from February 2018, Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal said on Friday.

At a meeting to review the progress of de-silting of drains and greening of central verges and roadsides, Mr. Baijal was informed by PWD officials that the work on landscaping would start from February 2018. He asked the PWD to engage a consultant for executing the project and submit a report within a month.

Mr. Baijal asked the PWD to prepare a road map for the cleaning of drains and preventing waterlogging from next monsoon. He also told the PWD and the Delhi Jal Board to work together to set up watering solutions for roadside greening.
