June 11, 2014 09:27 am | Updated 09:27 am IST - NEW DELHI:

A 20-year-old girl along with her mother chased and nabbed a young man who allegedly stalked her in Chanakyapuri here on Monday.

The girl and the accused Manjeet are known to each other. According to the police, the incident took place around 7 p.m. when the girl, accompanied by her mother, had gone out for a walk at Nehru Park.

It is alleged that Manjeet first followed her and then passed lewd comments. In her complaint, the girl told the police that she initially ignored him, but when he continued to misbehave, she warned him of police action and told him to keep away.

“When Manjeet continued with the comments, the girl called the PCR. The accused then tried to flee but was chased by the girl and the mother. The girl managed to catch Manjeet. By then the police reached the spot and overpowered the accused who was trying to escape again,” said a police officer.
