Ghaziabad woman dies of swine flu in Delhi

A 51-year-old woman was admitted to the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi on December 21 in a "critical state," but succumbed to the illness on December 24.

A woman from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, neighbouring the National Capital, has succumbed to swine flu.

According to officials, a 51-year-old woman was admitted to the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on December 21 in a "critical state," but succumbed to the illness on December 24.

 "She was brought in from the Yashoda Hospital to Columbia Asia Hospital in Gaziabad and then Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on December 21. The patient at the time of admission was in a critical state, she had lung failure and was on high frequency  ventilator support. Her diagnosis confirmed swine flu," said a spokesperson for the Ganga Ram hospital.
