Get ready for a musical weekend

November 28, 2014 08:19 am | Updated 08:19 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Something about a live music concert with screaming fans sets it apart from any other listening experience. The burst of energy when thousands sing along with the artistes and the silence when a singer picks up an acoustic guitar and sings a slow song are experiences that are discussed many years later at reunions.

One such festival that has grown from having 5,000 attendees in its first edition in 2010 to an expected attendance of over 70,000 people this year, is the Bacardi NH7 Weekender.

The festival is being organised at the Buddh International Circuit on November 29-30 and has already created a buzz among music lovers in the city.

Samarth, a lead guitar player in a college band, says he has been looking forward to the event since he attended it last year with his friends. He calls it a mini-vacation as it gives him the opportunity to listen to new music, have fun with friends and network with other musician over a two-day weekend.

Speaking about this year’s event, Manish Seth from Bacardi says what separates this festival from other festivals that spare no expense in bringing down huge acts are multiple in-festival on-ground activities that are cutting edge and fun like a Ferris Wheel, hot air balloon, ranger course, fun merchandise, memorabilia and many more activities that help you document your time at the festival.

As the festival is located outside the city, Grallo, a transport service, will ferry people from different parts of the city via their shuttle busses. The buses travel to the venue on an hourly basis and even have prefixed timing to return to the city. The festival has no minimuém age limit and everybody, including children can attend.

Artistes heading the huge line-up on various stages this weekend are Vaccines, Fear Factory and Amit Trivedi. There will be 30-40 other artistes on-stage on both days bringing to the audience a plethora of sounds.
