Around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, a passerby informed the police regarding a policeman lying unconscious in the parking space of Old Delhi railway station which led to a police team finding the other three.

Identified as head constable Dinesh and constables Mir Singh, Ajay and Ramesh, all posted in the third battalion of the Delhi Police had taken Paras to Bhatinda on 22 December, where he was produced before a court on the next day and then produced in another court in Punjab on 24 December.

For their return journey, the five boarded a train at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday from Bhatinda railway station. They were scheduled to arrive at Old Delhi Railway Station in the next 12 hours.

A senior police officer said that the cops had bought two bottles of juice from Bhatinda and consumed the same when the train reached Rohtak at night after which they fell unconscious and could not recall what followed. The police suspect that Paras would have managed to decamp somewhere from Rohtak area.

Paras was a close associate of Neetu Dabodia alias Surender Malik who was shot dead by the Delhi Police Special Cell during an encounter on 24 October.
