Fourth DU cut-off list to be shorter

Few seats left in popular courses

With seats filling up rapidly, the last day of admissions under the third cut-off list released by Delhi University (DU) saw moderate footfall across most of the popular colleges on Monday.

Officials from several colleges said that admissions to the most popular courses may close after the admission procedure under the third list is complete.

Miranda House has filled up 950 of its 1,000 seats. “We are almost done with admissions under the general category for most of the courses. For the fourth list a few seats will be open for the reserved categories” said Dr. Pratibha Jolly, principal of Miranda House.

In Hansraj College, 961 seats out of 1,164 have been filled. Kirori Mal College saw 90 admissions on Monday under the third list. Seats in south campus colleges are also filling up fast.

Sri Venkateswara College has completed the admission process for most of its seats.

“Out of 1,089 seats, 888 have been filled. Under the fourth list, courses such as B.Com (Hons.) will be open for both general and reserved categories,” said Dr. Venkat Kumar, admissions convenor of the college.

Lady Shri Ram College for Women has admitted a total of 595 students.

The college said that admissions to Journalism, Psychology and English courses will be closed after the third list. Seats will be available for History and Philosophy in the fourth cut-off list.

No seats left

Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma Collge saw a total of 140 admissions on Monday. A total of 810 seats out of 1,179 have already been filled.

“Under the fourth cut-off list, admissions to most of the courses such as Economics, Physics, Chemistry and History under the general category will be closed. However, courses like B.Sc. Physical Sciences and Electronics will still be open” said Gyantosh Jha, principal of the college.

Aspirants taking admissions under the third list can make payments till Tuesday noon. The fourth cut-off list will be released on July 13 and the admission process will continue till July 15.
