Four men allegedly involved in manufacturing and supply of country-made firearms have been arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell. The police claim to have seized 20 sophisticated pistols and 20 extra magazines from them.

Through sources deployed at Munger in Bihar and Kolkata, the police received information about alleged gun-runner Allauddin (40), who had been supplying illegal firearms in conspiracy with his accomplices from Munger and Meerut in Uttar Pradesh.

Acting on a tip-off that Allauddin will come near Shanti Van along Ring Road to deliver a huge consignment of firearms, the police laid a trap and arrested him on Friday along with three others. The other accused have been identified as Shehzaad (22), Mohammad Rustam (28) and Shakir (30).

“They were carrying bags from which we seized 20 pistols and 20 extra magazines,” said a police officer.

During interrogation, the accused disclosed that they had been operating for the past five years and frequently visited Munger to procure illegal firearms from manufacturers. According to the police, the accused were supplying firearms to criminals operating in and around the Capital.

Allauddin was previously involved in three cases under the Arms Act in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Rustam was involved in one such case in Munger, whereas accused Shakir was booked in two cases in Uttar Pradesh. Sahzaad too was booked under the Arms Act.
