Four men were fined for travelling in the ladies coach on the Delhi Metro on Tuesday night.

According to a Central Industrial Security Force spokesperson, the men were seen inside the ladies compartment on Line 2 (going from HUDA City to Jahangirpuri) around 10 p.m. on Tuesday at the Central Secretariat metro station by female security guards. “An altercation took place between the security guards and the men, who refused to get off the coach,” he added.

The female security guards called ahead to alert security at the next station (Rajiv Chowk). One of the female passengers in the ladies coach also informed the police and the Delhi Metro helpline. The men were intercepted at the Rajiv Chowk metro station, where each of them was fined Rs.250 by the station controller for travelling in the ladies coach.

Two of the men were identified as Prakash Ahuja and Sanjay Lodhi, both residents of Civil Lines.

No case was registered because the men had been let off by the time police arrived, added the CISF spokesperson.
