The fog, which has been playing havoc with the movement of trains in north India, also left MPs fuming as they failed to attend Monday's Parliament proceedings because of the delay in the Rajdhani Express they were travelling in to the capital.
Of the 200 trains running late, 100 were behind by more than one hour. Some were 18 hours, 24 hours, 26 hours and 32 hours behind schedule.
This despite the fact the Railways had cancelled 32 trains and rescheduled four others.
One of these trains happened to be the Howrah-Delhi Rajdhani Express via Patna, which 22 MPs from Bihar boarded on Sunday hoping to reach here in time to attend Monday's proceedings.
As luck would have it, these MPs had decided against taking the Patna-Delhi Rajdhani Express in the wake of their earlier experience when they were denied berths despite having valid tickets and arrived way behind schedule.
They missed the entire day's proceedings, arriving at about 5 p.m.
The MPs said they had been forced to miss the proceedings for the second time in less than two weeks.
