Air and rail traffic continued to be disrupted due to foggy weather in the Capital on Thursday.

Two flights were cancelled and ten delayed at IGI Airport here till evening due to foggy weather conditions at the destinations. Adding to the woes of the passengers, six flights were cancelled and 121 rescheduled due to other operational and technical reasons. On Thursday, low visibility procedures remained in place from 5-15 a.m. to 1-30 p.m. forcing operations of 288 flights under various categories of CAT.

The Meteorological Department forecast reduction in visibility to 400 metres at 9-30 p.m. on Thursday and further to 200 metres in the early hours of Friday.

Railway passengers had a harrowing time as 34 trains were cancelled and 13 partially cancelled by Northern Railway on Thursday. Besides, 68 trains were running behind schedule for over an hour and 20 others were rescheduled.
