Five Naxals held in Bastar

Five Naxals, including two women, were on Friday arrested from separate places in the insurgency-hit Bastar division of Chhattisgarh, police said.

Based on specific inputs, four cadres, two of them carrying cash rewards on their heads, were nabbed fromthe Barsoor police station area of Dantewada district, a senior police official told PTI.

They were identified as Neelaram Mandavi (25), Santuram Alami (30) and two women cadres - Raimoti alias Rame (25) and Budhri (21).

“There were inputs that these rebels had arrived at the local market of Barsoor (around 400 km away from here) with an alleged intention of executing some serious crime and spreading Maoist propaganda, following which police team swung into action,” he said.

Raimoti and Neelaram were carrying a reward of Rs 8 lakh and Rs 1 lakh on their heads respectively, he added._PTI
