A fire broke out on the terrace of a restaurant in New Delhi’s posh Khan Market on Saturday morning. However, no one was injured in the blaze that was doused within minutes of being reported to the fire department.
The blaze was reported from the ‘Wok in the Clouds’ restaurant around 11.30 a.m. The restaurant was not open for guests at the time of the blaze, and hence there were very few people inside at that time.
According to fire officers, the fire broke out in the exhaust fan close to the chimney of the restaurant. Short-circuit is suspected to have ignited the blaze.
“We saw smoke emanating from the terrace upon which we immediately dialled the fire department. The blaze was brought under control within minutes,” said an employee at the restaurant.
