FIR against Sheila Dikshit

The anti-corruption bureau has been particularly asked to probe alleged irregularities in street light projects

The Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi has shaken the dust off the Commonwealth Games streetlight project scam to proceed against former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. On Thursday, the Anti-Corruption Branch of the Delhi government lodged an FIR against Ms. Dikshit in connection with the case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and provisions of the IPC on a complaint filed by the Delhi Urban Development Ministry.

Ms. Dikshit's former Cabinet colleague Rajkumar Chauhan, officials of the PWD and civic bodies, contractors and vendors have been accused of making illegal gains for themselves and causing a loss of Rs. 31.07 crore to the exchequer.
