The father of a minor girl, who was raped and brutalised by an unidentified man in Sikanderpur here six months ago, sat on fast-unto-death near mini-secretariat here on Thursday seeking probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the case.
“It has been almost six months since the incident took place, but the police are yet to identify the culprit. The investigation in the case does not seem to be leading anywhere. The victim’s father had now decided to sit on fast-unto-death seeking CBI probe into the incident. His wife, mother-in-law and three children are also sitting on “dharna” with him,” said Pankaj Verma, chairman, Sachi Shiksha Trust, a non-government organisation.
The five-year-old girl had gone for a feast with her cousin and seven-year-old brother near Sikanderpur metro station around noon on June 15 this year when she was abducted and brutally raped. The girl was found outside a scrap dealer’s shop a few hours later.
