With the Delhi Police not willing to share the inquest report in the farmer's suicide case with the New Delhi District Magistrate, the DM office is now reaching out to the general people for any information or evidence they could provide in the case.
The DM office issued a public notice on Friday requesting people to share information, evidence related to the alleged suicide case by April 27, 2015.
New Delhi DM Sanjay Kumar has initiated a magisterial inquiry in the Gajendra Singh suicide case under section 176(1) of the Cr.PC, following orders from the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
On Wednesday, he had written to Delhi Police seeking inquest report. However, the Delhi Police, which has transferred the case, registered with Parliament Street police station, to Crime Branch has refused to share the report citing 'lack of jurisdiction'.
Mr. Kumar told The Hindu that the police has failed to share the report by the 11 am deadline set by him and he is now "looking into the legal aspects" for further proceedings.
