Several areas in east and south Delhi on Saturday faced power cuts for upto three hours due to technical problems in major transmission lines.
Officials said the transmission line from Wazirabad to Geeta Colony tripped at around 3:45 PM resulting in disruption of power supply in several areas of east Delhi as well as some localities in south Delhi.
They said the problem in the transmission line also resulted in some technical snag in generation stations Rajghat and Pragati following which power generation was also affected.
“There was no power in our locality for almost four hours,” Anup Gupta, a resident of Laxmi Nagar area said.
The normal power supply resumed in the areas by 7 PM.
Meanwhile, several other areas in the city also faced power cuts ranging upto two hours due to local faults and scheduled loadshedding.
