The Delhi University Teachers' Association on Thursday expressed concern over the fate of science and research scholars following the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board's withdrawal of permission to use any radioactive source in the university laboratories.
The permission was reportedly with- drawn as the university had failed to submit its final reply to AERB with regard to the radiation exposure incident within the stipulated period.
Stating that all science departments would be severely affected, the DUTA said the university would not be able conduct parts of courses such as M. Tech in nuclear physics.
The DUTA has given a call for a protest march on Friday to demand an unbiased enquiry on the radiation issue. It will also protest against the continuation of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Deepak Pental in office after the expiry of his term.
