DU admissions: English the most sought-after course

It is followed by BA (Programme) and political science

Undergraduate admission seekers to Delhi University who have applied for BA (Hons) English will face tough competition as it is the most sought-after course this year.

The university said that 1,26,327 students have applied for BA (Hons) English. English is a popular course as most applicants are eligible for the course without any deduction of marks. However, those who have studied English as an elective will be at an advantage as they will get an additional benefit.

Cut-off list

The second-most popular course is BA (Programme) with 1,05,818 applicants and the third-most popular is BA (Hons) Political Science which saw 1,05,590 applicants. BA (Hons) Economics has 96,709 applicants.

The least number of applicants were for vocational courses 49,378 applicants for BA (Voc) Tourism Management, followed by 53,207 for BA (Voc) Human Resource Management.

BA (Hons) Applied Psychology was the third least popular with 57,584 applicants.

Among BSc courses, mathematics is the most popular followed by chemistry and physics. This year, 2,78,544 aspirants have applied for undergraduate admissions. The first cut-off list will be issued on June 19.
