Delhi’s premier industrial infrastructure development body DSIIDC will now venture into construction of energy-efficient green buildings in the national capital.
The DSIIDC (Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Corporation) has been awarded the contract to construct a new building of the prestigious National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).
The DSIIDC last month signed an agreement with Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) to build energy-efficient buildings in the city under which BEE will provide green building technology to it.
DSIIDC Managing Director Chetan Sanghi said the design of the NIFT building has been finalised considering the climatic conditions in Delhi.
The building to be constructed at a cost of Rs 40 crore will be a state-of-the art structure symbolising harmony with fashion technology and will have various features to save energy, Mr. Sanghi said.
The NIFT building would be the first green building to be constructed by DSIIDC.
