Drunk youth rams car into retired D-G’s vehicle

A drunk youth allegedly rammed his car into a vehicle that belonged to retired Tihar Director-General Ajay Aggarwal on Barakhamba Road on Friday night.

The incident happened when Mr. Aggarwal’s driver Mahipal was on his way to receive him from the New Delhi railway station. “Near the Ranjit Singh flyover, Mr. Aggarwal’s vehicle’s was hit by a speeding car from the front,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) B.K. Singh.

Mr. Mahipal, who suffered injuries, was immediately taken to a nearby hospital.

He was discharged after treatment.

Released on bail

The accused were later identified as Dhruv Bagla (19) and his friend Karan Jain (20), who were coming from a café in Connaught Place. Mr. Bagla was arrested and later released on bail. A case has been registered. According to police, the accused were speeding after jumping a red light and were drunk.
