Three men were arrested on Sunday for allegedly supplying heroin in Delhi and other parts of the country, the police said on Tuesday.
They claimed to have seized drugs worth ₹24 crore from the accused.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) P.S. Kushwah said the accused have been identified as Manipur resident Taibali, and Assam residents Islamuddin and Shohidur Rahman.
Tip-off
The police had received a tip-off on Sunday regarding Taibali visit to Indraprastha Park to deliver a consignment to Islamuddin and Shohidur. A trap was laid and the accused were arrested.
“A total of six kg of heroin was seized, including 2.5 kg from Islamuddin and one kg from Taibali,” the officer said.
Bought from Myanmar
The police said Taibali procured the drug from a Manipur-based supplier, who bought it from Myanmar.
“Islamuddin and Shohidur bought heroin from cartel members, including Taibali, and supplied it to their contacts in Delhi and other States,” said Mr. Kushwah.
