Three inter-State drug peddlers were nabbed by the Delhi Police Special Cell with high-quality heroine, the police said on Monday.

The police recovered five kg of heroin estimated to be worth more than ₹20 crore.

The arrested were identified as Ram Nath, 26, Virender Pal Singh, 29, and Parvej Khan, 64 — all residents of Badaun in Uttar Pradesh.

On February 13, the Special Cell received a tip-off about two of the accused coming to Bhagwan Mahavir Marg in outer Delhi to deliver a huge consignment of drugs to a Delhi-based drug dealer, a senior police officer said.

Trap laid

Accordingly, a trap was laid, and an SUV was spotted going towards Barwala-Prahladpur. The car was overtaken. Both the occupants first tried to escape but were apprehended.

A case has been registered and a team was sent to Bareilly and Badaun in search of persons whose names were disclosed by the arrested duo during interrogation, the officer said.

On February 17, kingpin Parvez Khan was arrested from his village in Badaun and more one kg of heroin was recovered from his possession.

Interrogations revealed that Nath who was going through a financial crisis was lured by Singh, a notorious drug trafficker of Badaun.

Nath disclosed that he would go to Malda-Farraka, West Bengal and Manipur to procure heroin.

Singh had joined the illegal trade for easy money. Using contacts in West Bengal and Manipur, he used to supply the drugs in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakand (especially in Haridwar and Dehradun) with his co-accused.
