D.P. Yadav convicted in Bhati murder case

A special CBI court on Saturday held former MP D. P. Yadav and three others guilty in the Mahendra Singh Bhati murder case.

In December 1992, Bhati, who was the MLA from Dadri in Ghaziabad, was gunned down at the Dadri railway crossing.

On Saturday, four persons -- D .P. Yadav, Pal Singh, Karan Yadav and Praneet Bhati -- were convicted under sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.

The court will pronounce the quantum of punishment on March 10.

The CBI court also issued an arrest warrant against D. P. Yadav, who was absent in court on Saturday.
