The Directorate of Education (DoE) has asked the Chairman/Manager of Ramjas School, Anand Parbat, to take immediate action against the principal following a protest by parents and teachers against ‘breach of code of conduct’.

Harassment of students

Additional Director of Education Ashima Jain on Thursday directed the management of the school to take action against the principal and to ensure that a compliance report of the order is submitted within 15 days.

The order added that if the management failed to comply with the directions, action would be initiated against it.

Numerous charges

The order says that the allegations against the principal included that of harassment of students, illegally suspending students, filing fake FIR against parents, corporal punishment, physical and mental torture of students, misbehaviour with parents at school management committee meetings, charging development fee and locking up parents in the principal’s office, among others.

4-member probe panel

The DoE said that it had set up a four-member committee to probe the allegations. In its report, the committee had said, “Sandhya Bindal, the principal, has shown total disregard to the state of affairs prevailing in the school, whereby both teachers and students are terrorised and in constant fear of being implicated in false cases”.

It added that the principal was in the habit of using insulting and abusive language towards parents, students, teachers and others.

Complaints received

The report also said that the “management committee of the school had not bothered to take immediate and appropriate action against Ms. Bindal after receiving a large number of complaints from teachers and parents”.
