The government will do the needful to ensure that the family of the 21-year-old Delhi University girl student, who was shot dead outside her college, gets justice, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today said.

Ms. Dikshit met the family of Radhika Tanwar at Naraina village and conveyed her sympathies.

She assured them that the government will do the needful so that the family gets justice, officials said.

Ms. Tanwar, a second-year degree student, was killed outside her college in Dhaula Kuan’s Shantiniketan area yesterday by a man, who is believed to have been stalking her for sometime.

The incident came on a day when the city was celebrating the International Women’s Day.

Ms. Dikshit had yesterday expressed concern over the killing and had said that she has taken up the case with the Police Commissioner.

Earlier, addressing a function, Ms. Dikshit had said it was a matter of shame that women feel insecure in the capital of the country.
