The fog affected over a hundred trains with as many as 60 running late by four to 24 hours. The New Delhi-bound Patna Rajdhani is running late by 17 hours and the Patna-New Delhi Sampoorn Kranti Express by 24 hours .

For the citizens, it was a cold and foggy Christmas as the temperature dipped to a minimum of 7 degrees Celsius and the maximum hovered around 19 on Tuesday.

The weatherman also agreed that the winter had set in very late and that the temperature was supposed to be like this several days ago.

The weather conditions are likely to remain almost the same on Wednesday and the remainder of the week. “Thursday, the minimum temperature may crawl up to 8 degrees, which will fall again on Friday but then the maximum might go up to rest at 20,” said the weatherman.

Heavy fog has been forecast for Wednesday morning.
