Four-time Delhi Congress MLA Mukesh Sharma has demanded construction of at least four underground reservoirs to deal with water scarcity in residential colonies in Bindapur and the surrounding villages in West Delhi.

Addressing a series of public meetings to garner support for June 9 rally of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Mr. Sharma stressed the need to release 80 MGD raw water through Munak Canal to mitigate water woes in West Delhi. Crediting Ms. Dikshit with improving the water and power situation in the Capital , Mr. Sharma said that the Delhi Government had laid water pipelines in 937 unauthorised colonies so far and the Delhi Jal Board had identified another 210 colonies feasible for laying pipelines.
