Three minor girls & a woman raped in the Capital in past 48 hours
Three minor girls and a woman were raped in different parts of the Capital during the past 48 hours. One of the minor victims was burnt with a cigarette and her head was smashed.
The six-year-old girl, a resident of a slum cluster in Kirti Nagar, had gone to buy candles from a shop on Friday (February 24) evening after there was a power cut in the area. When she did not return her family looked for her in the neighbourhood and later reported the matter to the police. She was traced the next day (February 25) when a person informed her family that he had spotted the girl near a temple in the area. The victim, a Class I MCD school student, had burn marks all over her body and she had been repeatedly hit on her head with a stone in a bid to kill her. The family took her to Deen Dayal Upadhaya Hospital. She is said to be stable. The medical examination has confirmed the assault.
The police said the accused had been identified and would be arrested soon. The girl's father is a carpenter.
In a similar case, a security guard allegedly lured a minor girl in his neighbourhood in Mundka on Sunday and raped her. “The accused took the girl from her house on his bicycle while her father was inside and raped her at an isolated place. When the girl returned home an hour later, she narrated the incident to her family,” said a senior police officer. The accused was arrested after the medical examination of the victim confirmed the assault.
In another case, a young man raped the wife of an Army jawan inside her house in the Delhi Cantonment area on Monday. The woman was alone when the accused, who was known to her, allegedly raped her. Her children were away at school at the time of incident and her husband is posted in Jammu and Kashmir. The matter was reported to the police and the accused arrested.
In Dwarka, a security guard lured a teenaged girl to an isolated place in Bamnoli village over the weekend and allegedly raped her. The 15-year-old victim told her mother about the incident and the matter was reported to the police. The accused was later arrested.

I totally agree with saachi. Modernization isn't about imitating T.V or movie characters. In fact a rapist in never shown in a good light even in a t.v. soap or a movie. And yes i think its a woman's fault but not of the victim, but of the tormentor's mother who didn't teach him to respect women. The problem is not a woman's clothes but the hypocrisy in our minds. The guards were supposed to protect the girls not rape them.
Modernization is not related to rape. We have been living with the'rape culture'for decades now. I am glad victims are reporting crimes instead of maintaing a stony silence because their 'honour' has been violated. When a society becomes 'modern', it starts respecting everyone and accords them with a safe space. It also punishes those who violate others' safe space. Please don't make such uninformed and patriarchal assertions. If becoming modern means putting a lid on the rape culture: -where victims are blamed because of their clothes/the time they were out/character/profession/being a woman etc.- where women are taught 'don't get rape'and men are not taught 'don't rape'.- where victims don't complain because of police, judicial and societal apathy ...then I am all for abolishing this rape culture. Rape is 100% the fault of the criminal-under all circumstances.
These thing are happening because of pictures and T V serials day by day losing the values, celebrity's should be an example but they are not, there is know moral values, all because of modernization it is good to be modern but don't lose our characters tradition
