Delhi shivers with chill in air

December 16, 2011 12:13 pm | Updated 12:13 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

The Capital will enjoy a clear sky with mist and shallow fog in the morning on Friday with the maximum temperature expected to be around 22 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature hovering around 6 degrees Celsius.

“The winter is here and the city will experience some real cold mornings and evenings. The maximum temperature on Thursday was 22 degrees Celsius and the minimum was 5.9 degrees Celsius,'' said the weatherman.

Delhiites too have readied themselves for the winter ahead with woollen and other warm clothing already out for the season. “Though the winter seems to have arrived late, there is now a definite chill in the air. We are now preparing ourselves for the dense fog that plagues this season,'' said sales executive Sadhya James, a resident of Karol Bagh.

Heart Care Foundation of India's president Dr. K. K. Aggarwal said: “Compared to summers, winters in Delhi are a very healthy season with the incidence of diseases like dengue, malaria and viral fever going down drastically.''
