Delhi poll office to webcast critical polling stations

November 12, 2013 11:27 am | Updated 11:27 am IST - NEW DELHI:

The Delhi Election Office will monitor critical polling stations, especially those sharing borders with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh through close circuit television cameras in the upcoming polls.

Control room

Delhi Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Dev said it will be difficult to monitor each and every booth given the vast network of 11,763 polling stations across the Capital.

“There is a proposal to set up a centralised control room to keep constant vigil. The feed will be available on our website,” he said.

Letters have been sent to all election offices at the district level to identify sensitive polling stations in which cameras can be installed, Mr. Dev added.

The centralised control room will be set up at the headquarters of the Delhi election Office.
