A 30-year-old Delhi Metro Rail Corporation legal officer has accused her senior of sexual harassment at workplace. A case has been registered at the Barakhamba Road police station.

The complainant, a senior legal officer, has accused the general manager (law) of sexually harassing her for the past few weeks. The victim in her complaint has charged the 65-year-old officer with making unwelcome comments on her clothing, sending her filthy text messages and flirting with her.

Case registered

The police have registered a case under Section 354 (assault with intent to outrage the modesty of a woman) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code.

The victim has also reported the matter to the DMRC and an enquiry has been ordered.

In a statement, the DMRC said a complaint had been received from a woman employee of the organisation alleging misbehaviour by her senior and a three-member enquiry committee had been constituted to look into the matter.

The committee comprises two senior woman officers and an officer from the Human Resources Department of DMRC.
