The Supreme Court collegium, headed by Chief Justice of India P. Sathasivam, recommended her name last week. The proposal received by the Union Law Ministry will be processed after getting consent from the Delhi government and the appointment is expected to be notified in three to four weeks.

Ms. Justice Rohini (58) will have a four-year tenure. She enrolled as an advocate in December 1980 and later became chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Bar Council. She was appointed as a Government Pleader in the High Court in 1995. She was appointed as an Additional Judge in 2001 and made a Permanent Judge in 2002.
