Delhi govt issues grant of ₹5 lakh

Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal on Monday announced a compensation of ₹5 lakh on behalf of the Delhi government to e-rickshaw driver Ravindra’s wife.

Seeking strict action against the culprits, the L-G asked the Delhi Police chief to conduct a swift and fool-proof probe.

“Expressing shock and deepest condolences over the brutal murder of Ravinder, the L-G announced a compensation of ₹5 lakh on behalf of the Delhi government from the L-G, CM relief fund,” said a statement released from the Raj Niwas.

“The cheque and condolence message was personally delivered to Rani, the victim’s wife, by Amit Satija (District Magistrate, North Delhi); Milind Mahadeo Dumbere, DCP (North-West) and other senior officers on Monday,” the statement added.
