A 22-year-old Delhi girl today allegedly committed suicide by jumping from her hostel building in the district, police said.

Hina Kakkad, a resident of Mansarovar Garden in Delhi, was a first year B.Tech student of Manav Rachna International University at Surajkund Road here, they said.

Ms. Hina jumped from a window of the hostel, Ramesh Pal, Assistant Commissioner of Police, NIT (Faridabad), Ramesh Pal said.

However, family members of the girl are crying wolf over the incident.

“Some days back a boy from the Hina’s college called up to say that a student, Abhishek, of the same varsity, was following her and asked us to call the girl back otherwise some untoward incident would happen,” Hitesh Kakkad, brother of Ms. Hina said.

The window from which she fell is too high and small, making it impossible for anyone to fall from it accidentally unless some one forces, Mr. Hitesh said.

We will probe all the aspects, including the allegations made by the family members of the deceased, the ACP said.
