Delhi gets eco-friendly e-ricks

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit flagged off an eco-friendly e-rick from her residence here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Dikshit said there was a need for collaborative efforts to make the city a pollution-free zone. “We are extremely proud to lend support to e-ricks in Delhi and look forward to more and more people opting for green technologies. We have always been conscious about environmental issues and hence are supportive of such initiatives which would help ensure a healthier and greener city. ”

E-ricks would be available for commuters at Chandni Chowk, Press Club Road in Saket, Safdarjung Development Area, Market area near the IIT, Greater Kailash-II and North Campus of Delhi University.

E-rick is a state-of-the-art battery-powered vehicle with comfortable design and advanced technical features. Designed and manufactured by experts with diverse backgrounds in engineering, design, business and marketing, the e-rick is aimed at ensuring reduction in carbon footprint.

As the sponsoring partner, Vodafone Essar wants e-ricks to be used as a pollution-free mode of transportation in the Capital.
