The highly decomposed body of a young married woman was found in her house in Rohini here on Wednesday. The woman's husband and minor daughter are missing.
Twenty-two-year Maneka was found dead in her house in Jhulelal Apartments in Sector 16 of Rohini when the police broke open the door on the complaint of her parents. “The body was lying on the bed and seemed to be over a week old. It had decomposed. The fan in the room was on. It seems to be a murder,” said a senior police officer.
The police suspect involvement of Maneka's husband Krishan Rao who along with their four-year-old daughter is untraceable. Krishan runs a placement agency. The two had got married five year ago.
The police said the cause of death could be ascertained after the post-mortem report is received.
Maneka's parents had lodged a missing complaint with the Outer Delhi Police on December 18 after they could not contact her over the phone for many days despite repeated attempts. “Maneka's parents were calling her for the past one week, but could not contact her. When they came to her Rohini house, they found it locked and lodged a complaint saying that their daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter were missing. We put the mobile phone of Krishan under surveillance but without any success,” said the officer.
Maneka's parents again approached the police on Wednesday with a request to break open the door and look for clues.
It led to the discovery of the body.
