Aiming to reduce the number of correspondence and visits of the general public to its offices, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is now providing information about its different policies and procedures in the public domain in a simpler way.

As part of the initiative to make the public’s interaction with DDA more hassle-free, the authority has come up with a comprehensive “Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)” on technical procedures and a handbook on development control norms for residential development.

“In our endeavour to streamline policies and making guidelines transparent, the DDA has prepared an FAQ on technical documents like master plan and building permit procedure, which are now available on the DDA website,” said a DDA spokesperson.

“FAQ on Master Plan-2021 provides clarifications on queries raised by the public from time to time through RTI applications, letters, etc. This section covers FAQ on aspects such as residential, wholesale (commercial), commercial (retail), industry, land pooling, social infrastructure and building plan permit,” he said.

“ A handbook on development control norms will help inform and guide the public on the procedure of submitting development applications/building permits,” he said.

“The purpose of the handbook is to simplify and make the Master Plan user-friendly, which is perceived as a technical document difficult to understand,” he said.

The handbook has also been uploaded on the DDA website.

“This is a compilation of all the development control norms and the provisions of building by-laws required for processing building permits at one place. People will not have to refer to various documents for development of their residential plot, group housing, etc. The handbook on development control for residential development mainly contains an overview on residential plots, residential group housing, low density residential area and studio apartments,” he said.
