The DCW has initiated an inquiry into children begging on the streets of the Capital.

The Commission said DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal interacted with the two girls found begging during surprise inspection of the metro station at night.

“When the DCW visited their family, it found an eight-year-old chained to a tree. The Commission rescued all three girls. They were produced before the Child Welfare Committee for rehabilitation,” the Commission said.
