The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) on Tuesday set up a group of experts to verify claims of higher than prescribed levels of electromagnetic radiation (EMR) in the Capital.

The move comes a day after the Delhi High Court directed the Delhi Government to constitute a committee of experts to examine potential health hazards posed by EMR from mobile phone towers.

Speaking to reporters, CSIR Director General Samir Brahmachari said that at the request of Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit's office a team of experts has been set up under the leadership of Director of the Council's Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute at Pilani to have a detailed study.
