A criminal wanted for the Mianwali triple murders was arrested on Wednesday from Karnataka.

Rajesh alias Raje (47), a member of the Sonu Dariyapur gang, allegedly confessed to his involvement in the murders of Monu Dariyapur, friend Arun and police officer Vijay Kumar in April. There was a bounty of ₹1 lakh for information leading to his arrest.

Rajesh was arrested following a tip-off about his arrival near the Goa-Karnataka border to meet his family, the police said.

Rajesh had allegedly joined hands with Sonu Dariyapur to eliminate their rivals. “Rajesh wanted to kill Ramesh Lohar and Satyawan alias Sonu Dariyapur wanted to eliminate Monu Dariyapur,” said DCP (Special Cell) P.S. Kushwah.
