An FIR has been registered against unidentified men at Sohna City police station for attempt to murder and cruelty against animals after suspected cow smugglers allegedly opened fire at a British citizen and her friend on Monday.

British national Sonia Sharma and her friend were in an SUV around 2.30 a.m. on Sohna Road when they noticed a vehicle being driven rashly.

“It was laden with cows. Two men were sitting on the top of the vehicle. When we tried to flag them down, they pushed a cow from the moving vehicle onto the road and later opened fire at us,” she said. The police said the vehicle was impounded and six cows rescued but the suspects managed to flee.
