A Delhi court will next month begin hearing arguments on whether Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain has brought on record sufficient evidence to summon suspended Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kapil Mishra and BJP MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa in two separate defamation cases.
Pre-summoning proof
The court had, in May, taken cognisance of the two cases and asked Mr. Jain to lead pre-summoning evidence. The Minister has filed the cases alleging that Mr. Mishra and Mr. Sirsa had defamed him by levelling corruption charges against him before the media.
‘Bribe to CM’
In his complaint against Mr. Mishra, Mr. Jain alleged that the suspended AAP leader had on May 7 made a statement before the media that he had paid a bribe of ₹2 crore to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
In the case of Mr. Sirsa, Mr. Jain said in his complaint that the MLA had on May 9 made a libellous statement by levelling corruption charges against him.
