A court in Ghaziabad has stayed the construction of a metro tower on a piece of land belonging to a builder in the Vaishali area.

After the stay ordered over the weekend, Ghaziabad Development Authority vice-chairman Narender Chaudhry said construction on the land owned by N. K. Rajput was started without verifying the ownership.

Mr. Rajput told reporters that it was a temporary hurdle and the court would be approached for an early disposal of the matter.
