Contract killers held

The Delhi police on Saturday arrested four members of an alleged gang of contract killers in Subhash Nagar area after a brief encounter.

The arrested men – identfied as Sushil alias Sheela (26), Amit alias Lamba (21), Sunil alias Ullu (26), and Ramesh alias Mesha alias Pehelwan (32) — were all wanted by the Haryana Police in connection with three triple murder cases, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vijay Kumar.

Among them, Sushil and Sunil carry a reward of ₹50,000 each. Amit was formerly a basketball player who turned to crime, said the police.

Mr. Kumar said that the police had received information about four alleged contract killers gathering in the Capital to plot a murder and a trap was laid near Pacific Mall. Four accused

Four persons were arrested in a brief encounter in which seven rounds were fired between police and the accused. No injuries were reported.
