Constable shoots self, critical

A Delhi Police constable allegedly shot himself in the head in the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) in Connaught Place on Thursday. His condition is said to be critical.

Parvinder, a resident of Nangloi, shot himself in a washroom around 6.30 p.m., said the police.

‘He was unwell’

“He was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where his condition is said to be critical,” the police said.

His colleagues said he had not been feeling well since the morning. The police have informed his wife, who stays in Bhiwani in Haryana.

“We are ascertaining the reason behind the constable trying to kill himself,” an officer added.
