Aam Aadmi Party Lok Sabha candidate from North-East Delhi constituency Anand Kumar on Thursday accused sitting MP and Congress candidate J.P. Aggarwal of neglecting the area.
The district is one among the 90 minority-concentrated districts that have a minority population of over 20 per cent, and for which a special component plan has been sanctioned by the Centre.
During a road show in the constituency, Prof. Kumar said it was “thanks” to the apathy of the local Congress MP that over Rs.125 crore meant for the development of this constituency remained “unutilised” and had to be sent back to the Centre.
While appealing people to vote for Prof. Kumar, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, who undertook a road show in the constituency, accused the BJP and the Congress of not allowing him to run the government.
Prof. Kumar termed North-East Delhi as the “backyard of a backward region” and alleged that the constituency was “neglected” by Congress at the parliamentary and legislative levels and by BJP at the municipal level.
